The Green Hotel is situated in the picturesque town of Kinross, surrounded by 5000 acres of beautiful south Perthshire countryside. Dating back to the 18th Century, The Green was originally a traditional coaching inn, with the stage coaches which ran between Edinburgh and Perth changing horses right here at The Green.

Golf at the Green
We have two fantastic 18-hole golf courses onsite – The Bruce and The Montgomery. Both courses are mature and well-maintained, providing excellent examples of Scottish parkland golf with the added bonus of magnificent views of Loch Leven and the West Lomond Hills. You can also enjoy access to over 200 other courses within an hour’s drive, including St Andrews, Kinsgbarnes, Gleneagles and many more. Truly a golfer’s paradise!
BEAUTIFUL LOCH LEVEN ON THE DOORSTEP
Cycling, Walking & Running: Enjoy the outdoors in the resort’s extensive 5000 acres of ground – for starters we have the outstanding 13 mile Loch Leven Heritage Trail which takes you around the full length of beautiful Loch Leven, perfect for walking, cycling or running! Additionally, we have the famous Michael Bruce circular walk, which takes you up and along Bishop Hill – a spectacular walk on a sunny day!
A few ideas for the family: great walks of course, or you can hire bikes to cycle around the loch or visit nearby RSPB Vane Farm for a great family day out, or head to Kirkgate Children’s Play Park which is just a 10-minute walk from the Hotel, a wonderful open space with stunning views over the loch.
Fishing and Boating: Loch Leven Fisheries provides outstanding trout fly fishing (from boats hired from the pier) from mid-April to early October.
Or for those preferring a boat trip, regular daily trips over the summer months (April to October) provide the opportunity to visit Loch Leven Castle where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned in the year 1567.
Canoeing: from 1st April to 31st August, you can launch your canoe onto Loch Leven

Onsite we have a unique music venue, Backstage at The Green which offers a great range of original bands and the very best of the tributes, something certainly different to enjoy during your stay, time permitting! There is also a super Olympic standard curling rink located next to us (can be reserved for groups of 8+ taster sessions but not for individuals).

We make wedding planning easy so that you can enjoy your special day. Over several decades, Kinross has successfully hosted thousands of weddings. Our Loch Leven Suite can hold up to 90-day guests & 120 for an evening reception. Everything is right here, full catering, two bars, golf plus activities for non-golfers, everyone in the wedding can arrive, park the car, and forget about their keys until it’s time to leave. An easy drive for you and guests. We’re an easy 60 minute drive from Glasgow and 45 minutes from Edinburgh (just off the M90). Nobody will be getting lost in a city centre or down a country lane!

Every wedding is unique and as such we will discuss every aspect of your wedding with you to ensure each and every detail is covered. We have a wide variety of different areas which can be used for different parts of your wedding day. Once we have met and discussed your plans for the day, we can then finalise which areas are best suited to your requirements.

MENU SELECTION
We are sometimes asked by wedding clients if it is possible to have a choice menu. Our wedding menus are designed to appeal to a wide variety of guests and hence we do strongly recommend to opt for one set menu for everyone. This guarantees a much smoother, quicker and elegant service when catering for larger numbers and ensures that you will receive the absolute best quality of menu delivery. We will of course ensure provision is made for guests who are vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, along with any other dietary requirements so these guests can be catered for separately to the main menu, or the main menu can be adapted if suitable to do so.
If a choice menu is requested, with prior agreement we can offer a choice of two dishes per course (plus a vegetarian option) as long as we receive a menu pre-order for each individual guest at least two weeks before the wedding. If a pre-order is preferred, we also require to be provided with a table plan for the day which clearly indicates what each individual guest has ordered (so that we don’t have to ask all your guests on the day “who is having what”). An additional charge will be added to choice menus depending on your preferred menu choice and this will be advised once menus are discussed.
Menu Tastings – We are happy to arrange a menu tasting for you of your preferred options. Should you wish to do so, we would request a maximum 2 dishes per course be sampled for a minimum 4 guests. This must be pre-arranged with your wedding co-ordinator about 4 months prior to the wedding. Sample menus are charged at full price, payable on the day.
WINE SELECTION
Our wine list offers a super choice of wines. Please do however ask us if you would like us to source any particular wine for you, and we are happy to offer corkage if you prefer.
Corkage Prices
If you choose to provide your own wines, a corkage charge is applicable (prices include VAT) and are as follows:
£10.00 per bottle of wine
£14.50 per bottle of sparkling wine
£16.50 per bottle of champagne
EXTERNAL WEDDING SUPPLIERS
We can provide a list of associate suppliers who are all experts in their fields and can provide a full range of services for your day – from entertainment, stationery, cakes, flowers, linen hire, transport and much more! All extremely professional and keen to help. Do ask and we can provide further details.
ACCOMMODATION AT THE GREEN
We have 46 rooms located at our property and we can offer special wedding rates for all guests attending the big day – both for the night before your wedding and on the wedding day itself.
Wedding Rates ~ we are delighted to offer a special 15% discount on all bedroom bookings attending a wedding with us (applicable for the night before and the night of your wedding).
Exclusive Bedroom Use ~ for weddings with over 40 bedrooms, we can guarantee exclusive use of that hotel’s accommodation (excludes the restaurants).
PRE AND POST WEDDING DINING
Bridal Party Night Before Dining
Start in style! Have yourselves and the bridal party stay the night before and enjoy either a private dinner or restaurant dining for you and your guests.
Private Breakfast
We can serve your wedding breakfast either in a private room or in the restaurant, just as you wish. Again, you may wish to arrange a special post-wedding breakfast group get together for all your guests. We can arrange this and send out a note to all guests when they arrive to meet up for breakfast at a suitable time.
